The MPHS Asian Student Union aims to unite students of various Asian heritages and provide a safe space for them to discuss discrimination, politics, conformity, and other issues that target Asians in America. The Auto club is a hands-on group where students with a passion for cars can come together to learn and hone their automotive skills. Through the many projects and races we participate in students are afforded opportunities that are hard to come by anywhere else. The club fosters a sense of teamwork and problem-solving as students work on real-world automotive challenges, participate in competitions, and even organize car shows.

Bluegrass Club is a club where students are invited to learn a new genre of music while also learning being able to learn new instruments. We compete in the school's talent show, play in the quad, and invite all to learn the art of playing bluegrass. The Blue Skies Club is a student-led organization aiming to promote mental health awareness and education within and outside the Myers Park Community. This club will tackle certain subjects such as depression, stress, trauma, resilience, coping, and many other widespread issues facing Gen Z. While Blue Skies does hope to help those understand mental-health issues, it is NOT a support group or “therapy” centered club. Students will be able to discuss and understand such topics with varying levels of severity which hopefully as Myers Park students will make an impact within the community to help and support others.

Do you love chess? If you want to improve your game or just want a fun relaxing place to play, then the Chess Club is for you! Help us continue the Myers Park High School Chess Team’s tradition of excellence. All skill levels are welcome and chess sets are provided. Last year, the MPHS Chess Team was undefeated in the CMS team tournaments and finished 2nd at States. Our club's mission is to practice chess together and compete as a team to represent Myers Park and inspire students everywhere to become players of the world's most superior boardgame.

Civitas is a bipartisan political club where passionate students meet to discuss relevant political and societal topics. The Myers Park French club is a student led club for students who are studying French in school, or just take interest in the language and culture. We have activities like language practice sessions if you need some extra help with your French homework or specific areas. The Genders and Sexualities Alliance, or GSA, is a safe space for Myers Park students who identify as LGBTQ+ or are active supporters of the LGBTQ+ community. Meetings are a blend of relaxed social time and “business” (outreach, education, history, current legislation, etc). It is a wonderful place to meet new friends and celebrate our identities. The GSA meets in LA219 on 1st and 3rd Mondays from 2:30-3:30.

Greenhouse club is a student interest club that revolves around the education of environmentally based activities like harvesting, aquaponics, and gardening. It works with 100 gardens to donate food, and has service project to create gardens in retirement homes around Charlotte. It is a welcoming community that is an opportunity for students to have fun and learn.

The Harry Potter club is a student-led club that allows for pupils to connect over their passion for the Wizarding World. Alongside trivia competitions, wand designing, critical analysis of the novels and other magical activities, the club gives back to the community by reading the books to young children at elementary schools, helping to further education and passion for reading. Many students love escaping into the world of Harry Potter and providing a space for friendship and fun while also helping the community is the goal!

Icing Smiles is a service club that uses bakesales to raise money for the national icingSmiles organization. The organization uses these funds to bake professionally made, awesome cakes for terminally ill children in the hospital on their birthdays. Mahjong is a very fun tile based game made for four players. This club gives all students an opportunity to relax during the school year, bond with peers, and learn more about Chinese culture. This year we plan on teaching students the rules of Mah Jongg as well as hosting friendly matches and tournaments. Our mission is to bring students closer together. This club is open for everyone… no prior experience is needed.

Multicultural Cooking is a culinary-based club dedicated to educating students about cultures globally, by creating and learning about their popular cuisines. Through monthly country rotations, club members will be immersed into many cultures by making authentic dishes and reading provided information about their origins and significance in the country's culture.During club meetings ingredients for dishes will be provided by club leadership as well as music made in the country to enjoy. Multicultural cooking is not only fun way for students to expand their pallet but also a way to expand their global knowledge through the incentive of free food!

The Myers Park Maker club aims to inspire creativity and encourage the development of technical skills through making in a friendly and low stress environment. Club members meet at least once a month in the school makerspace to learn and build things with 3D printers, a laser cutter, and a variety of other tools. Skills including CAD and vector design are taught to take advantage of these fabrication techniques. The club offers training and lessons on how to operate the tools the makerspace offers. In addition, the Maker Club encourages entrepreneurship and service through making things.

Park-apella is an A Capella group for both male and female voices. This group combines the former Sallies and Fellas into one community, allowing for a wider range of music to be sung. Park-apella meets weekly to learn and rehearse arrangements that we perform throughout the year at events both on and off campus.
